Shalini George

Meet Shalini, a busy working mum who understands the importance of creating beautiful and functional spaces for families. With a creative eye for interior design and exposure to different cultures and designs through her travels, Shalini has a gift for conceptualizing spaces that you will want to "live" in. In November 2014, Shalini launched Shalini George Interiors, now known as Naarkaali Design Studio, to turn her passion for creating beautiful spaces into a business.

One of the things that inspired me to start my store in 2018  was my frustration with the current state of the market. Everywhere you look, there are trendy, poorly made products that seem to be designed to be used a few times and then thrown away. It's a cycle that's not only wasteful, but also unsatisfying. We've become so used to constantly buying and trashing things that we don't value our belongings anymore.

That's why I'm passionate about encouraging customers to go back to the good old days when we bought things that we truly loved and treasured them. Instead of always following trends, we should invest in products that are made with care and craftsmanship. When we pay a little extra for something, we know that the profits are going to the designer who put their heart and soul into creating it. We appreciate their work and feel a sense of pride in owning it.

By investing in well-made, timeless products, we can reduce our impact on the environment and feel better about what we own.

I encourage you to think about the true cost of that lifestyle. By investing in products that are made with care and respect for the environment, you can feel good about what you own and do your part to protect our planet.
